Ogbene Joins Ipswich, Mejbri Moves to Burnley in Premier League Transfers

The summer transfer window continues to be active, with two notable moves announced on Wednesday. Chiedozie Ogbene, a Republic of Ireland international winger, has joined Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town from Luton Town on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Ogbene, who scored four goals in 30 appearances for Luton in the previous Premier League season, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to play in the top flight again. “I’m very excited and feel lucky to have this opportunity to play in the Premier League again,” Ogbene said on Ipswich’s website. “It’s an opportunity I had to grab with both hands and I can’t wait to be involved as soon as possible.” Ogbene’s journey to Ipswich has taken him through several clubs, starting with Cork City and Limerick in Ireland, before spells at Brentford, Rotherham, and Luton.

Meanwhile, Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has also made a significant move, joining Championship club Burnley on a four-year contract. The 21-year-old Tunisian, who has joined for an undisclosed fee, becomes Burnley’s eighth new arrival during this summer transfer window. “I’m very excited. Very happy to be here and I can’t wait to see the fans,” Mejbri said. “After speaking to the coach (Scott Parker), the project sounded good to me and hopefully we can make it a success.” Mejbri joined Manchester United in 2021, the same year he made his Tunisia debut, and spent loan spells at Birmingham City and Sevilla before his move to Burnley. These two transfers showcase the ongoing activity in the transfer market, with both Ogbene and Mejbri looking to make their mark in new surroundings.
