InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Returns to Serbia with New Belgrade Location

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading name in the hospitality industry, is making a triumphant return to Serbia with the reintroduction of its iconic InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand. After a two-decade absence, InterContinental Belgrade is set to open its doors in late 2026, marking a significant addition to the country’s tourism landscape.

This luxurious hotel will boast 203 elegantly designed rooms, catering to a diverse range of travelers. Guests will have the choice of 28 Premium Rooms, 15 Junior Suites, 2 Superior Suites, 2 Executive Suites, and a Presidential Suite offering breathtaking views of the city.

InterContinental Belgrade will be strategically located in the ‘Delta District’, a thriving new development at the heart of Belgrade’s commercial and financial hub. This prime location provides direct access to the newly upgraded Sava Centar, the largest convention and exhibition venue in the region.

Beyond its luxurious accommodations, the hotel will offer a range of exceptional amenities, designed to cater to both vacationers and business travelers. Guests will be able to enjoy a stunning sky pool, a rooftop dining area with a restaurant and bar, and a spacious terrace for upscale dining experiences. A full-service spa and wellness center, a grand ballroom, a cozy lobby lounge, a café, a patisserie, and versatile meeting spaces will also be available.

(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed her enthusiasm about the return to Serbia, stating, “Our world-renowned InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand has been pioneering luxury travel for more than 75 years, and it’s great to bring it back to Serbia, a country that has enjoyed a surge in tourism in recent years. Its reputation as a business and investment powerhouse, together with its rich artistic heritage, fascinating history dating back over 7,000 years, and exquisite cuisine, makes it the ideal destination for locals and international visitors alike.”

Andrej Sovrović, Member of the Executive Board of the Delta Holding company and Cluster General Manager IHG Hotels & Resorts, added, “We are looking to create unique places for locals and travelers to enjoy in Belgrade, which is why we are excited that InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s first and largest international luxury hotel brand, will be part of our exciting new development in the city. Following the successful opening of InterContinental Ljubljana in Slovenia, we instinctively knew it was the ideal brand for our project. We look forward to growing our relationship with IHG and, together, adding InterContinental Belgrade to the brand’s trailblazing portfolio as a market-leading new build in the region when we open our doors.”

This new venture marks the fourth collaboration between IHG and Delta Holdings, following the successful launch of Crowne Plaza Belgrade, Hotel Indigo Belgrade, and InterContinental Ljubljana. The addition of InterContinental Belgrade to IHG’s portfolio further strengthens its presence in the region, which currently includes three operational properties in Belgrade: Hotel Indigo Belgrade, Crowne Plaza Belgrade, and Holiday Inn Belgrade, along with two additional Holiday Inn Express projects under development. The company is also expanding its footprint throughout the Balkans with nearly 20 active and planned properties in Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and the Northern Republic of Macedonia.
