According to reports from DigiTimes and industry analysts like Ross Young and Mark Gurman, Apple has commenced mass production of these new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.
While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed these developments, the timing aligns with its customary release schedule. Typically, iPhone announcements take place in September, followed by MacBook releases a month later in October. An Apple event scheduled for September 9th could potentially be the platform for the iPhone unveil, hinting at the possibility of a MacBook announcement in October.
Gurman’s insights suggest that the upcoming M4 MacBook Pro will come equipped with a minimum of 16GB of RAM, offering two options: 16GB or 32GB. This marks a departure from the 8GB baseline that Apple has adhered to since 2012, signaling a significant upgrade in memory capacity.
In terms of design, the new MacBook Pros are expected to retain the current aesthetics, with notable changes anticipated further down the line. Rumors suggest that an OLED MacBook is in the works but its arrival is still a few years away. Gurman also notes that Apple intends to slim down the MacBook Pro’s profile in the future, but for now, the 16-inch model will maintain its substantial size.
