Trump Attacks Zuckerberg in New Book, Accuses Him of ‘Plotting’ Against Him

In his upcoming book, “Save America,” former President Donald Trump takes aim at Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, painting a picture of a man secretly working against him during the 2020 election. The book, set to be released on Tuesday, features an undated image of Trump with Zuckerberg alongside a scathing caption that appears to reference a $420 million donation made by Zuckerberg and his wife in 2020 to support election infrastructure. This donation previously drew Trump’s ire.

Underneath the photo, Trump writes, “Zuckerberg “would come to the Oval Office to see me. He would bring his very nice wife to dinners, be as nice as anyone could be, while always plotting to install shameful Lock Boxes in a true PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT.” He’s referring to the $420 million donation, which he alleges was a scheme to undermine his presidency.

Zuckerberg, in a recent letter to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, has indicated he won’t be making similar contributions in the future, citing concerns about appearing partisan. Despite allegations that his donation favored Democrats, Zuckerberg insists on his commitment to neutrality.

Trump’s criticism of Zuckerberg in his book follows a series of events that have strained their relationship. In August 2024, Zuckerberg revealed that his company faced pressure from the Biden administration to censor certain content on its platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed regret for not resisting the pressure sooner and pledged to resist such pressure in the future. Earlier, in July, Trump threatened to imprison Zuckerberg and other “election fraudsters” if he were re-elected. He made this statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, specifically naming Zuckerberg.

This latest attack on Zuckerberg underscores the ongoing tension between the tech industry and political figures, particularly in the wake of the 2020 election. It remains to be seen how Zuckerberg will respond to these allegations and whether the public will accept Trump’s version of events.
