Telangana CM Apologizes for Remarks on Kavitha’s Bail

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has offered an apology for his remarks concerning the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.

Reddy, in a statement, expressed his unwavering belief in the judicial process and clarified that the statements attributed to him in reports were taken out of context. He asserted that his comments were misinterpreted and did not reflect his true stance on the matter.

The Supreme Court had earlier granted bail to Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The case revolves around alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy in Delhi, with Kavitha being one of the individuals under investigation.

Reddy’s apology comes amidst heightened political tensions in Telangana, with the ruling BRS and the opposition Congress engaging in a fierce battle ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. The issue of the Delhi excise policy scam has become a point of contention between the two parties, with each accusing the other of involvement in the alleged irregularities.
