London’s vibrant fashion scene is about to get even more exciting as Fashion East, the renowned incubator program known for nurturing the careers of some of the most influential designers in the world, unveils its latest cohort for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 season.
For over two decades, Fashion East has played a pivotal role in launching the careers of designers like Kim Jones, Stefan Cooke, Craig Green, and many more. This season, the program continues its tradition of spotlighting fresh talent, welcoming Pia Schiele of the skate brand Loutre, Cameron Williams and Jebi Labembika of Nuba, and footwear designer Kitty Shukman. These emerging designers will present their collections alongside returning artists Samara Scott of Sosskyn and Olly Shinder on September 13th at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.
Loutre, founded by German-born designer Pia Schiele, is known for its deconstructed-reconstructed approach to upcycling, transforming discarded materials into unique and edgy pieces. Nuba, co-founded by Central Saint Martins graduate Cameron Williams and Jebi Labembika, offers an elegant and imposing collection of felted wool Melton coats, draped cloaks, and nylon skirts. And Kitty Shukman, a former Yeezy designer, pushes the boundaries of footwear design with her intriguing experiments in 3D printing.
This season will also mark the final collection for Olly Shinder, whose distinctive designs, known for their unconventional twist on traditional workwear, have captivated the London fashion scene. Shinder’s collections often feature a playful exploration of kink and push the boundaries of conventionality.
