India Launches Three New Vande Bharat Trains, Boosting Connectivity Across States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains on Saturday, August 31st, at 12:30 pm. These trains will provide residents of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka with a world-class travel experience, offering speed and comfort. The new routes will significantly improve connectivity and reduce travel times between key cities.

New Routes and Travel Times:

Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat:

This train will save passengers approximately one hour compared to the fastest existing train between the two cities.

Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat:

This train will reduce travel time between Chennai and Nagercoil by more than two hours.
3.

Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat:

This train will shorten the journey between Madurai and Bengaluru by around one and a half hours.

Train Timings and Bookings:

– Bookings for the Madurai Jn-Bengaluru Cantt Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20671/20672) are now open.
– Bookings for the Chennai Central-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20627/20628) are now open. The regular service of this train will commence on September 2, 2024.

Key Stations and Stoppages:

Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat:

This train will cover 726 kilometers in Tamil Nadu, offering modern and faster travel for residents of 12 districts, including Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai. It will also facilitate pilgrimages to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and the Kumari Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari.

Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express:

This train will connect the temple city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu with the bustling metropolis of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. It will provide convenient travel for businesspeople, students, and other working individuals commuting between Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru.

Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express:

This train will enhance religious tourism in the region by providing faster access to pilgrimage sites such as the Digambar Jain Temple, Mansa Devi Mandir, Surajkund Temple, and Augharnath Temple. The swift connectivity will also boost industries in the Meerut region by facilitating travel to the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
