In a significant step towards enhancing tourist safety and bolstering its image as a secure travel destination, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, working in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior, has successfully completed a comprehensive technical inspection of approximately 14,000 tourist vehicles across key governorates by the end of August. This meticulous effort is part of the annual licensing renewal process, encompassing crucial areas like Cairo, South Sinai, the Red Sea, Alexandria, Luxor, and Aswan.
Led by Minister Sherif Fathy, the ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding strict regulatory and supervisory standards within the tourism sector, with a primary focus on improving the quality of services provided to both domestic and international tourists. Recognizing the vital role of tourist transport vehicles in Egypt’s tourism infrastructure, ensuring their safety is paramount.
Ms. Samia Sami, Head of the Central Department for Tourism Companies at the Ministry, highlighted the significance of these inspections in verifying that all tourist vehicles meet the highest safety and quality standards. This initiative serves as a crucial safeguard against accidents, prioritizing the well-being of tourists and enhancing their overall travel experience. By maintaining rigorous safety standards, Egypt continues to position itself as a preferred destination for tourists worldwide.
The inspections are conducted by specialized engineers who meticulously assess the condition and suitability of each vehicle for use in the tourism sector. These inspection teams will continue their work regularly, ensuring that all tourist vehicles across the country undergo a thorough examination. This rigorous inspection process underscores Egypt’s unwavering dedication to maintaining high safety standards in the tourism industry, ensuring that vehicles used to transport tourists are reliable and well-maintained.
With millions of visitors flocking to Egypt each year, tourism remains a cornerstone of the national economy. Such initiatives are instrumental in ensuring the sector’s sustainability and continued growth, solidifying Egypt’s position as a global leader in tourism.
