Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has secured significant investments during his official visit to the United States, highlighting the state’s commitment to technological advancement and sustainable development.
One of the key achievements during his trip was securing a Rs 400 crore investment from Ohmium, a company specializing in green hydrogen technology. This investment will be used to establish a green energy production facility in the Chengalpattu district, creating 500 jobs and fostering a more sustainable future. The project reflects the state government’s focus on nurturing the green energy ecosystem and promoting environmentally conscious development.
In a separate development, the Tamil Nadu government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google to establish Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs at Guidance in Chennai. This partnership aims to skill 2 million young people in AI through the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ program, which promotes education and skill development among youth. The AI labs will also facilitate collaboration with startups and empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to harness the power of AI, benefiting the rural economy.
The AI initiative demonstrates the Tamil Nadu government’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce equipped with the skills necessary for the evolving technology landscape. These developments are part of Chief Minister Stalin’s broader vision for Tamil Nadu’s prosperity and economic growth, with a focus on attracting foreign investments and promoting innovative industries.
