Concord’s Dismal Sales: Sony’s New Shooter Fails to Impress

Concord, the new first-person shooter from Sony, has failed to make a splash in the competitive gaming market. New estimates from industry analyst Simon Carless of Game Discover Co. reveal that the game’s sales are significantly lower than anticipated. While exact figures remain undisclosed by Sony and developer Firewalk, estimates suggest Concord has sold around 17,700 copies on Steam, with some analysts placing the number closer to 10,000.

On PlayStation, Concord is estimated to have sold around 15,000 copies, giving the game a total estimated sales figure of 25,000 across both platforms. This is a far cry from the success of other popular live service games, particularly considering Concord’s premium price point.

The game’s performance on Steam has been particularly disappointing. It has fallen rapidly on the platform’s bestseller list, currently sitting at position 511. Meanwhile, on the PlayStation Store, Concord has also experienced a decline, dropping from position 48 to 100.

The lackluster sales figures are likely to be a significant disappointment for Sony, which has been investing heavily in the gaming sector. The company’s Q2 earnings call is expected to shed further light on Concord’s performance, but early signs suggest the game is far from a success story. It remains to be seen whether Sony will be able to turn the tide and salvage Concord’s future in the competitive gaming market.
