Priyansh Arya: The Young Cricketer Aiming for RCB and DPL Glory

Priyansh Arya, a young and rising star in the world of cricket, has captured the attention of fans and experts alike. This talented batsman recently made headlines by hitting six sixes in an over during a Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 game. Arya, known for his aggressive style of play and his admiration for cricket icon Virat Kohli, revealed his dream of one day donning the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey in the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL).

Despite his impressive performances in the ongoing DPL, Arya is not fixated on the upcoming IPL mega auction. He is currently focused on leading his team to victory in the DPL. His exceptional batting skills have made him the highest run-scorer in the tournament, accumulating a remarkable 602 runs in just nine innings. This translates to an impressive average of 75.25 and a staggering strike rate of 198.0. Arya has also achieved two centuries in the tournament, showcasing his remarkable consistency and power-hitting abilities.

In an interview with PTI, Arya expressed his unwavering admiration for Virat Kohli, saying, “Virat Kohli is my favourite, I want to play for RCB. My favourite team is RCB, I admire Virat Kohli a lot, I like his aggression. I also like to play aggressive cricket. He is my idol.”

Speaking about his incredible feat of hitting six consecutive sixes, Arya shared his thought process, “I had this thing in mind that if a left-arm spinner comes on to bowl, I will attack him. After the fourth six, I started to believe that I can hit six sixes and will go for that. Ayush backed me and told me to go for the kill.”

Arya’s ambition extends beyond individual achievements. He is determined to win the DPL trophy and potentially become the highest run-scorer in a single edition of state T20 leagues in India. He attributes his team’s success to the leadership of captain Ayush Badoni and the supportive team environment.

“Badoni’s quite relaxed and doesn’t talk much, just tells us to express ourselves. The team’s environment is calm, coaches talk about the positives rather than negatives. The mindset is to win the trophy. The semi-final and final are the two most important matches so just taking it game by game,” Arya added.

While the South Delhi Superstarz made some significant changes to their playing XI towards the end of the tournament, Arya remains optimistic. He acknowledges the risk taken by captain Badoni in making those changes but believes the team will be stronger with Badoni’s return.

“Ayush took the risk for changes in the team. Our team will become strong again when he comes back. We were able to rectify where we were lacking and where we could perform better,” he concluded.

Priyansh Arya’s journey in cricket is just beginning, and his dedication, talent, and ambition are sure to propel him to even greater heights in the future. With his sights set on playing for RCB and achieving DPL glory, Arya is a name to watch out for in the world of cricket.
