France has suffered a blow ahead of their upcoming Nations League matches, as two key players from Real Madrid, Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy, have been forced to withdraw from the squad due to injuries.
Defensive midfielder Tchouameni is dealing with a foot issue, while defender Mendy sustained a shin injury. Both players started Real Madrid’s recent 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Sunday, with Mendy being substituted in the second half.
In response to the injuries, France manager Didier Deschamps has called up Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne as replacements.
