Mysterious Fever Claims Three Children in Bihar Village

A mysterious fever has claimed the lives of three children in the Raniganj village of Bihar’s Araria district within the last three days. The deceased have been identified as Raunak Kumar (4), Ankush Kumar (2 months old), and Gauri Kumar (7). While Raunak Kumar died on Saturday, Ankush Kumar and Gauri Kumar passed away on Sunday and Monday respectively.

Family members of the deceased children attribute their deaths to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), also known as brain fever or ‘Chamki Bukhar’ locally. However, the district administration has dispatched a team of medical experts to investigate the cause of death and determine if the fever is indeed AES. The experts are also tasked with identifying any other children displaying similar symptoms of cough, cold, and pneumonia.

The Araria District Magistrate (DM), Inayat Khan, confirmed the deaths and stated that the civil surgeon is closely monitoring the situation. Despite the family’s claims of AES, the exact cause of death remains unknown as the children’s last rites have already been performed.

Adding to the concerns, three more children from the same village have been admitted to the government hospital with pneumonia-like symptoms. The medical professionals are closely monitoring their condition. The DM stressed that the reason behind the children’s deaths can only be ascertained after the medical experts submit their reports.

The incident has sparked fear and anxiety among villagers. The authorities are taking necessary steps to address the situation, including investigation and medical treatment of affected children. The outcome of the medical experts’ investigation is eagerly awaited to shed light on the cause of the mysterious fever and prevent further tragedies.
