Meridian Waste Expands Footprint in the Southeast with Acquisition of Evergreen Environmental Partners and ADSI Holdings

Meridian Waste Acquisitions, LLC, a leading non-hazardous, integrated solid waste services company, has announced the acquisition of Evergreen Environmental Partners Holdings, LLC (EEP) and ADSI Holdings, LLC (ADSI), effective September 1, 2024. The acquisition significantly expands Meridian Waste’s operational footprint in the Southeast, adding key assets in Alabama and Mississippi.

The acquired entities, previously owned by BTG Pactual Strategic Capital, bring a valuable network of assets to Meridian Waste. These assets include a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill, a transfer station facility, and additional third-party transfer station operations. The acquisition also encompasses hauling, administrative, and maintenance facilities serving commercial, industrial, and residential contracts across Alabama and Mississippi.

Meridian Waste’s CEO, Walter “Wally” Hall, highlighted the strategic and financial benefits of this acquisition. He stated, “Meridian Waste is in full growth mode, as exhibited by the company’s announcement of its largest acquisition yet of these impressive Alabama and Mississippi assets.” Hall emphasized the company’s strong understanding of the Alabama and Mississippi marketplaces, having previously worked in the region. He expressed confidence in the ability to further grow the existing business established by Darren and Anthony Rizzo, alongside the dedicated teams at EEP and ADSI.

This acquisition marks Meridian Waste’s thirtieth since transitioning to private stock under the ownership of Warren Equity Partners (WEP) in April 2018. The company’s commitment to providing exceptional customer service, caring for its employees, and delivering financial value for its shareholders while promoting a clean and healthy community has been a driving force behind its growth.

Meridian Waste’s operations now extend to multiple states in the Southeast, including Northeast Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Virginia. The company provides services to over 524,520 residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental customers. In addition to its fleet of trucks, Meridian Waste operates 31 hauling companies, eight transfer stations/materials recycling facilities (MRFs), three municipal solid waste landfills, and four C&D landfills. The company safely disposes of over 1,107,574 tons of waste annually.

The acquisition of EEP and ADSI strengthens Meridian Waste’s position as a leading provider of solid waste services in the Southeast. The company’s commitment to growth and its focus on integrating acquired assets into its existing operations position it for continued success in the coming years.
