Russian Missile Strikes Kill 41 in Poltava, Ukraine

A devastating attack by Russian forces has claimed the lives of at least 41 people in the Ukrainian city of Poltava. Two ballistic missiles struck a military training facility and a nearby hospital, leaving 180 others injured. Poltava, situated approximately 350 kilometers southeast of the capital Kyiv, holds strategic importance due to its location on the main highway and rail route connecting Kyiv to Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv.

The attack resulted in significant damage to the Poltava Military Institute of Communications, partially destroying one of its buildings. People were trapped under the rubble, but rescue efforts saved many lives. Zelenskyy confirmed the involvement of all necessary emergency services in the rescue operation.

In response to the tragedy, Zelenskyy has ordered a comprehensive and timely investigation into the incident. The attack underscores the continued brutality of the Russian invasion and the devastating impact on Ukrainian civilians.
