Outcrop Silver & Gold Corporation (Outcrop Silver) is excited to announce a significant update on its 2024 Regional Exploration Program at the high-grade Santa Ana silver project located in Colombia. The company’s exploration strategy is centered on a clear path to substantially expand the known resource area along the extensive 17-kilometer strike of drill-permitted targets, covering a total of 30 kilometers of mineralized trend.
This year’s activities include large step-outs testing new drill targets like Aguilar, and a comprehensive expansion of regional exploration activities. These efforts are focused on identifying and advancing targets to drill-ready status while refining the targeting process. The Santa Ana project, which is 100% owned by Outcrop Silver, is situated in Colombia’s highest-grade primary silver district, historically renowned for producing some of the highest silver grades in Latin America.
Highlights of the 2024 Regional Exploration Program
*
La Ye:
This vein system, spanning 500 meters in strike length, exhibits exceptional grades with chip samples returning up to 4,898 grams per tonne of silver equivalent and channel samples showing up to 2,553 grams per tonne of equivalent silver.*
Morena:
Discovered through soil geochemical surveys near La Ye, this vein system has yielded chip and channel samples with grades reaching up to 1,237 grams per tonne of silver equivalent.*
La Rica:
Identified during reconnaissance campaigns along the Frias and Santa Ana trend, this vein system has returned chip and channel samples with grades of 4,113 and 1,194 grams per tonne of silver equivalent, respectively.*
La Quebrada:
This vein system, a promising target for near-term exploration, has shown grades of up to 30 grams per tonne of gold and 412 grams per tonne of silver.Outcrop Silver’s Strategic Expansion
Outcrop Silver’s exploration strategy primarily focuses on drill testing targets, increasing the inventory of drill-ready targets, and generating new prospects. This approach involves making significant advances southward by following established mineralized trends like La Ye & Morena or Los Mangos & Frias targets, aiming to extend known mineralized zones and uncover new ones.
Key Exploration Activities
*
Drilling:
The primary method for confirming mineralization at depth and testing the continuity of veins along strike. Drilling will focus on high-priority targets such as La Ye, Morena, Mangos, and other areas within the extensive vein systems.*
Trenching:
Used to expose veins at the surface, especially in areas where soil coverage obscures the vein trace. This method is crucial at Los Mangos, with the objective of identifying vein extensions for near-term drilling.*
Soil Sampling:
Systematic and extensive soil sampling across multiple targets helps identify geochemical anomalies that may indicate buried mineralization or undiscovered veins. This is particularly important for targets like Cavandia, La Rica, Topacio, and Frias.Target Selection and Pipeline Focus
The exploration strategy prioritizes targets with the highest potential for resource expansion. Key targets include La Ye, La Rica, Topacio, Frias, and Los Mangos. Additionally, the company is actively seeking to identify and test parallel mineralized zones, which could significantly increase the resource base if confirmed. A prime example is the La Ye and Morena vein systems, parallel to the Aguilar vein system.
Long-Term Vision: Resource Growth and Scalability
Outcrop Silver’s ultimate goal is to significantly expand the mineral resources at the Santa Ana project. The strategy emphasizes scalability, aiming to double the resource potential if new vein trends or systems are discovered, particularly in the southern and northern extensions of existing veins like La Ye, Los Mangos, and Aguilar.
Detailed Analysis of Exploration Targets
The company has provided a detailed analysis of its exploration targets, including La Ye, Morena, La Rica, and La Quebrada, highlighting their potential for significant resource expansion and the rationale behind their selection.
