Woman Molested in Ambulance, Husband Dies After Being Thrown Out in Uttar Pradesh

A shocking incident of alleged molestation and negligence has come to light in Uttar Pradesh, India. A woman was reportedly sexually harassed by the driver and his assistant inside an ambulance while transporting her sick husband to a nearby hospital. The incident, which occurred on August 30th, has sparked widespread outrage and highlights the ongoing issue of women’s safety in the country.

According to reports, the woman’s husband, Harish, fell ill and was initially taken to Basti Medical College. Due to his deteriorating condition, doctors referred him to another hospital. However, the family was unable to afford the fees at the private hospital and decided to take Harish home for treatment. During the journey, the ambulance driver forced the woman to sit in the front with him and his assistant. The two men then proceeded to sexually harass her.

When the woman tried to protest, the perpetrators allegedly stopped Harish’s oxygen supply and threw him, along with the woman, out of the ambulance. They also allegedly stole the woman’s jewelry. Harish sustained injuries from the ordeal, which worsened his condition. The woman, in distress, informed her brother about the incident, who then alerted the police.

The police transported Harish to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The victim claimed that the police initially hesitated to arrest the accused until she filed a written complaint at the Ghazipur police station in Lucknow.

The Additional Director General of Police Lucknow North, Jitendra Dubey, confirmed that a case has been registered and the police are taking necessary action. However, the incident has sparked outrage and calls for swift and decisive action against the perpetrators. The incident underscores the alarming prevalence of sexual harassment and the need for increased security measures for women, even in what should be a safe environment like an ambulance.
