Harvey Weinstein Criminal Proceedings Dropped in UK

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the United Kingdom has discontinued criminal proceedings against Harvey Weinstein. The decision, announced on Thursday, was made after a review of the evidence in the case.

Frank Ferguson, the Head of the CPS’s Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, stated that the decision was based on the lack of a realistic prospect of conviction. He explained that the CPS is obligated to continuously review all cases and that they concluded the available evidence no longer supported a successful prosecution.

Harvey Weinstein, a prominent figure in Hollywood, has faced multiple allegations of sexual assault and harassment, leading to his downfall and imprisonment in the United States. While the UK proceedings have been dropped, the ongoing legal battles and accusations against him continue to draw significant attention.
