Ferrari Appoints Loic Serra as New Chassis Technical Director

Ferrari has announced the appointment of Loic Serra as their new chassis technical director, effective October. Serra, a highly experienced engineer currently serving as the performance director at Mercedes, will be taking over the position previously held by Enrico Cardile, who stepped down in July.

Cardile’s departure has seen team principal Frederic Vasseur temporarily overseeing the chassis area. However, with Serra’s arrival, the French engineer will now report directly to Vasseur.

Serra was initially slated to join Ferrari as head of chassis performance engineering, reporting to Cardile. However, following Cardile’s move to Aston Martin as their chief technical officer, Serra’s role has been elevated, making him the team’s new chassis technical director.

This strategic appointment marks a significant move for Ferrari as they aim to bolster their technical prowess and challenge for the Formula One championship. Serra’s experience and expertise at Mercedes, a team known for its technical excellence, are expected to play a key role in Ferrari’s future success.
