Jet2.com, a prominent UK leisure airline, is expanding its reach in Italy with the introduction of new routes to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (QSR) for the summer travel season of 2025. This expansion marks the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the country, making QSR its ninth Italian destination.
Starting on May 26th and continuing until September 29th, 2025, Jet2.com will operate weekly flights every Monday from Birmingham Airport and Manchester. This carefully planned schedule caters to the increasing demand for leisure travel to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, providing travelers with more flexibility and convenience.
This exciting news comes shortly after Salerno Airport reopened for commercial flights in July. The airport is rapidly becoming a hub for various major low-cost carriers. It currently houses services from easyJet, Ryanair, and Volotea, reflecting the growing popularity of the region as a tourist destination. Additionally, Wizz Air has announced plans to commence operations from Salerno in October, further bolstering the airport’s connectivity and affirming its appeal among travelers seeking the allure of the Mediterranean.
Jet2.com’s decision to add flights to Salerno is part of a broader strategy to capitalize on the thriving Italian tourism market. By connecting two major UK cities with an emerging Italian destination, the airline not only expands its network but also provides a boost to regional tourism. This move is expected to be warmly welcomed by holidaymakers searching for new and exciting destinations to explore along Italy’s famed Amalfi Coast.
