Indian Railways Expands Vande Bharat Express Network with Four New Routes

Indian Railways is set to significantly expand its Vande Bharat Express network in September with the introduction of four new routes. These new services will connect Tatanagar-Patna, Tatanagar-Brahampur, Deoghar-Banaras, and Agra Cantonment-Varanasi, bringing faster travel times, enhanced passenger comfort, and a boost to regional economic growth.

Since its launch in 2019, the Vande Bharat Express has become a game-changer for train travel across India. Currently, 110 Vande Bharat Express services are operational nationwide. The recent inauguration of three new routes – Meerut City-Lucknow, Madurai-Bengaluru Cantonment, and Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express trains – by Prime Minister Narendra Modi further emphasizes the government’s commitment to expanding high-speed rail connectivity.

Here’s a detailed look at the four new Vande Bharat Express routes being introduced in September:

Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat Express:

This new service will cover a distance of 498 kilometers in under 9 hours, a significant improvement over the current Train 18183 which takes over 10 hours for the same journey. The train will make major stops at Purulia Junction, Asansol Junction, Madhupur Junction, Jasidih Junction, and Mokama Junction.

Tatanagar-Brahampur Vande Bharat Express:

Covering 590 kilometers in less than 9 hours, this train will reduce travel time significantly compared to the existing Tatanagar-Visakhapatnam SF Express, which currently takes around 10 hours for the same route. The train will halt at Chaibasa, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar.

Deoghar-Banaras Vande Bharat Express:

With a travel time of under 8 hours, this train will cover approximately 455 kilometers, offering a faster alternative to existing routes. It will make stops at key stations including Jasidih Junction, Mokama, Patna, Danapur, and DD Upadhyaya Junction.

Agra Cantonment-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express:

This new service will cover 674 kilometers in 9-10 hours, a significant improvement over the current Kota-Patna Express, which takes over 14 hours for this distance.

The introduction of these new routes reflects the Indian Railways’ commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and providing passengers with faster, more efficient, and comfortable travel options. These new additions are expected to revolutionize travel across the country, promoting tourism, economic growth, and strengthening regional connectivity.
