IHG Hotels & Resorts Launches ‘NOMO’ Package for Solo Escapes

As summer winds down, many parents are feeling the strain of the holiday season. To help them recharge, IHG Hotels & Resorts has introduced a special package designed for solo travelers: NOMO (Night On My Own). This escape is specifically for those seeking a night away from kids, partners, pets, and housemates, offering a chance to unwind in peace.

The NOMO package provides a discounted stay, 20% off food and beverages (including room service), and extended check-out until 2 pm, among other perks. It’s available at IHG Hotels & Resorts properties across the UK and Ireland.

Research commissioned by IHG Hotels & Resorts reveals that a significant portion of parents, two-thirds, feel exhausted after the summer break. Furthermore, 68% crave a night alone to fully recover, and 7 out of 10 report feeling mentally or physically exhausted by the end of the school holidays.

It’s not just parents who desire some alone time. An impressive 42% of Brits are interested in booking a solo night away after the summer holidays, with this figure reaching almost 70% for those aged 25 to 34. One in three people even say they’d reserve a night for some peaceful pampering.

Abbey Clancy, a model, TV personality, and mother of four, has partnered with IHG Hotels & Resorts to launch NOMO. She understands the exhaustion of the summer holidays and emphasizes the importance of parents taking a break for their well-being. Clancy encourages everyone, not just parents, to treat themselves to a well-deserved night off after a busy summer filled with social engagements, weddings, and travel.

IHG’s NOMO package aims to inspire more Brits to take a rejuvenating solo getaway. With over 115 IHG properties participating nationwide, guests can enjoy the perks of the NOMO package.

Joanna Kurowska, Managing Director UK&I at IHG Hotels & Resorts, highlights the importance of self-care and the desire for alone time. She emphasizes that the NOMO package provides a unique opportunity to switch off, be cared for, and find balance after a busy summer.

A recent survey uncovered that over a quarter of parents (26%) haven’t enjoyed a night to themselves, free from family obligations, in six months or longer. Nearly 1 in 10 haven’t experienced this kind of break in five years. While 37% of parents admit to feeling guilty about taking time for themselves, a vast majority (77%) recognize the importance of having occasional personal time, even away from their partners.

When asked how they’d spend a solo night, respondents listed their top five choices: staying in bed (14%), taking a bath (15%), binge-watching a TV series (13%), enjoying a bottle of wine (12%), or reading a book (10%).
