Space Marine 2: Cross-Platform Play Explained

When the Emperor calls upon you to face the relentless Tyranid hordes in Space Marine 2, you’re not expected to go alone. You’re a nearly invincible Space Marine, but even you need backup on this mission. While the campaign might not be lengthy, it’s more than bloody enough to be satisfying. The real fun comes from replaying missions with friends or diving into the Operations mode. And if you fancy yourself a particularly lethal marine, you can even engage in PvP combat.

Clearly, this game isn’t meant for solo play, especially if you’re after all the Trophies and Achievements. But can you team up with (or fight against) players on other platforms? The answer is both yes and no, depending on what you’re talking about.

For crossplay, the game only offers full cross-platform support for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in co-op modes. This means you can join forces with friends on any of these platforms to tackle the campaign or Operations mode together. However, consoles and PC are separated for PvP modes. PC players are grouped separately, while PlayStation and Xbox players can still battle it out on a level playing field.

Thankfully, cross-progression is a much simpler matter. Before playing, set up a Prism Ray Online Services account. This account will work across all platforms, allowing you to transfer your save data wherever you go. To take advantage of this, you’ll need to own a copy of the game on multiple platforms, but the feature is available if you need it.
