China Eastern Airlines Unveils Innovative E-Services for Seamless Travel

China Eastern Airlines has taken a significant step towards enhancing the travel experience for international passengers with the introduction of its innovative Eastern E-Services at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. This new suite of services is designed to streamline baggage handling, improve connectivity within the Yangtze River Delta region, and provide a smoother, more efficient travel journey for all.

The Eastern E-Services include a range of features aimed at eliminating paper-based processes and creating a seamless travel experience. Travelers can now access electronic boarding passes via the airline’s mobile app, eliminating the need for physical tickets. Additionally, passengers can conveniently submit online customs declarations and entry cards during their flight, further streamlining the arrival process.

A standout feature is the online transit information submission service, available to foreign travelers eligible for 24-hour or 144-hour visa-free transits. This service allows passengers to complete necessary entry procedures online, significantly reducing wait times and making the arrival process more efficient.

To further enhance convenience, China Eastern Airlines has extended its domestic check-in counter hours at Shanghai Pudong International Airport until midnight, providing round-the-clock check-in services for domestic passengers.

In terms of baggage services, the airline has introduced a Special Baggage Drop-off feature through its app, allowing passengers to manage their baggage needs with ease. Dedicated counters are also available at 15 key airports across the country for specialized handling of high-value and special baggage, as well as additional baggage allowance services.

Beyond the airport, China Eastern Airlines has launched a ‘bus + air’ combined transportation service in cities like Suzhou, Kunshan, Hangzhou, Wuxi, and Jiaxing in the Yangtze River Delta. This service offers passengers greater travel flexibility, allowing for free ticket changes within the region for eligible flights operated by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines. The service has been expanded to other regions, including Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangdong, further increasing its reach and convenience.
