India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, is attending the inaugural India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This landmark event marks a significant step in strengthening relations between India and the GCC nations, with a focus on key areas such as trade, investment, and energy.
The meeting underscores the growing strategic importance of the Gulf region for India’s foreign policy. Home to approximately 8.9 million Indian expatriates, the GCC is a crucial trading partner for India. This meeting signifies India’s commitment to deepening engagement with these countries.
During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar will hold one-on-one discussions with foreign ministers from GCC member states, aiming to solidify bilateral relationships and address mutual interests.
