Bengaluru Cantonment Station Redevelopment Impacts Train Operations

The Bengaluru Cantonment (BNC) railway station will undergo a redevelopment project from September 20 to December 20, 2024. This project will cause partial disruptions to train operations as platforms 2 and 3 will be closed for the duration of the works.

To accommodate the construction, Southern Railway (SR) has announced the cancellation of 44 trains over a period of 92 days. Travelers are advised to carefully check the revised train schedules before their journeys.

Here are some key changes to the train schedules during the redevelopment period:

Weekly Superfast Express (22135):

This train will operate on specific dates from Mysuru to Renigunta, with stops at Jolarpettai and Katpadi. It will depart at 11 pm on September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and December 6, 13.

Shatabdi Express (12028):

The Shatabdi Express between KSR Bengaluru and Dr MGR Chennai Central stations will not run on Tuesdays from September 20 to December 20, 2024. It will depart KSR Bengaluru at 6 am on other days.

Bengaluru-Ernakulam Express (12677):

This train will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 6:10 am, operating as usual during the redevelopment period.

Lalbagh Express (12608):

The Lalbagh Express, traveling between KSR Bengaluru (Majestic) and Dr MGR Chennai Central, will depart KSR Bengaluru at 6:20 am, operating regularly during the redevelopment period.

Murdeshwar-SMVT Bengaluru Express (16586):

This train will depart from Murdeshwar at 2:10 pm from September 19 to December 19, 2024. Key stops include Mangaluru Central and Mangaluru Junction.

Superfast Express (12610):

This train will operate from Mysuru to Dr MGR Chennai Central at 5:00 am during the construction period.

MEMU Passenger Train (06551):

The special MEMU passenger train running between KSR Bengaluru and Jolarpettai stations will commence its journey from Bengaluru at 8:45 am.

Bagmati Weekly Express (12578):

This train will operate on specific dates, departing Mysore at 10:30 am. It will make stops at Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, and Perambur.

Double Decker Express (22626):

The Double Decker Express will depart from Dr MGR Chennai Central at 1:30 pm.

Brindavan Express (12640):

The Brindavan Express is scheduled to depart SMVT Bengaluru at 3:10 pm.
