Digi Yatra Expands to Nine New Airports in India

India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced the expansion of the Digi Yatra service to nine new airports across the country. The initiative, aimed at enhancing the travel experience and making air travel more seamless and efficient, was announced by Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation.

Digi Yatra is a digital platform developed by Hyderabad-based startup Dataevolve Solutions. It provides a paperless travel experience by utilizing facial recognition technology to verify passenger identities at various checkpoints, including check-in, security, and boarding gates. Passengers no longer need to present physical tickets, boarding passes, or identity cards, as their information is integrated with the Digi Yatra-ID travel credential data.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with the Airports Authority of India and five private airports, has spearheaded this industry-led digital initiative. The expansion of Digi Yatra services signifies the government’s commitment to unlocking the full potential of the Indian aviation sector and ensuring its continued prominence on the global stage.

By leveraging technology to streamline processes, Digi Yatra aims to reduce waiting times and expedite processing, creating a more convenient and hassle-free travel experience for all air travelers in India. The initiative promotes a seamless, contactless, and paperless journey, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable future for India’s aviation industry.
