A 12-member Pakistani contingent has successfully arrived in India to participate in the South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) Junior Championships. The team, consisting of athletes and officials, departed from Pakistan on Monday and traveled to Chennai via the Wagah border, Amritsar, and finally, Chennai by air.
The Pakistani team received their visas from the Indian High Commission on Saturday, paving the way for their participation in the championship. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI), the event organizers, confirmed the team’s arrival at the Wagah border and expressed their excitement for the competition.
The SAAF Junior Championships are set to take place in Chennai from September 11 to 13. This event will provide a platform for young athletes from South Asian nations to showcase their skills and compete at the regional level. The presence of the Pakistani team adds an element of international competition to the championship, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among athletes from different countries.
