Virgin Australia has taken a significant step towards strengthening its global presence by expanding its existing partnership with Amadeus, a leading travel technology provider. This enhanced agreement signifies a deeper collaboration between the two companies, enabling Virgin Australia to offer its services to a wider audience of travel agents worldwide.
The partnership will leverage both EDIFACT and NDC (New Distribution Capability) channels, ensuring seamless access to Virgin Australia’s offerings through various travel booking platforms. This includes popular systems like Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Travel API, and Cytric Easy, Amadeus’ corporate self-booking solution.
Sandra Da Cruz-Brits, General Manager Distribution at Virgin Australia, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, stating: “We are pleased to announce today our enhanced distribution agreement with the travel technology leaders at Amadeus. Over the past decade we have expanded our partnership and now look forward to deepening it further as Virgin Australia accelerates its transition to the world of modern airline retailing.”
