Minor Hotels, a global leader in hospitality with over 550 hotels, resorts, and residences across 56 countries, has appointed Simon Beaumont as the new General Manager of Avani+ Khao Lak Resort. Beaumont’s appointment, effective July 2024, marks a significant step in the resort’s journey towards enhanced guest satisfaction and continued growth.
Beaumont brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision to his new role. With over 35 years in the hospitality sector, he has held senior positions in food and beverage management and leadership across diverse regions, including Australia, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. His most recent position was as Interim Chief Executive Officer at Absheron Hotel Group in Azerbaijan, where he managed 14 internationally branded hotels, focusing on growth and operational excellence.
Beaumont’s distinguished career includes thirteen years with Marriott International, where he honed his culinary and operational skills, contributing to the success of several high-profile properties in Asia and Europe. From 2012 to 2015, he served as Marriott’s Senior Director of Culinary for Europe, overseeing 370 hotels in over 30 countries. He also held key leadership roles at W Doha in Qatar and JW Marriott Absheron Baku in Azerbaijan, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to driving operational excellence.
