The wait is over! The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET July 2024 examination. This highly anticipated announcement brings much-needed clarity for thousands of aspiring researchers and academics across India. The scores, which are crucial for securing Junior Research Fellowships, Assistant Professorships, and PhD admissions, are now readily available on the NTA’s dedicated website.
The CSIR-UGC NET was conducted between 25 and 27 July 2024 in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The examination, held across 348 centers in 187 cities, covered five key subjects: Earth Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Chemical Sciences. A total of 225,335 candidates registered for the exam, with 163,529 actually appearing for the test.
The examination was administered in multiple shifts across the three days. For example, on July 25th, the Earth Sciences paper saw 5,171 out of 8,127 registered candidates appearing, while the Physical Sciences paper had 25,075 out of 35,721 registered candidates participating. The Mathematical Sciences paper on the same day saw 29,118 out of 40,795 registered candidates taking the test. The Life Sciences paper, held in two shifts on July 26th, had a combined total of 67,850 candidates appearing out of 77,785 registered. Finally, Chemical Sciences concluded the exam on July 27th with 36,315 candidates appearing out of 50,009 registered.
Following the examination, provisional answer keys and question papers, along with recorded responses, were made available on the NTA website from 9 to 11 August 2024. Candidates were given the opportunity to challenge the provisional answers, and after expert verification, the finalised answer keys were used to score the exams.
Candidates can now access their scores by logging into the NTA website csirnet.nta.ac.in using their application number and date of birth. It’s important to remember that no physical scorecards will be mailed. Candidates must download and print their scorecards directly from the website.
While the release of scores marks a significant milestone, it’s crucial to remember that it doesn’t guarantee automatic selection or eligibility. Candidates need to fulfill additional criteria and provide necessary documents as outlined in the Information Bulletin at later stages of the selection process. The NTA’s role is limited to conducting the test, declaring the scores, and providing data to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for further actions. Certificates for qualified candidates will be issued by the NTA once the final results are declared by the CSIR.
For further updates and information, candidates are advised to regularly check the official website and follow any instructions provided by the CSIR.
