BAE Systems Wins $440 Million Contract to Produce More Bradley Fighting Vehicles for US Army

BAE Systems has secured a significant contract from the U.S. Army, valued at over $440 million, to manufacture additional Bradley Fighting Vehicles. This award encompasses the production of more than 200 A4 variants, which will be delivered to the Army as modernized replacements for some of the Bradleys that have been supplied to Ukraine.

The Bradley A4, a critical next-generation capability in the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) formation, is a proven system designed to enhance battlefield performance across diverse mission requirements and combat situations. The A4 variant boasts a robust design that prioritizes durability and commonality, thereby reducing the logistical burden. Its digitized electronics ensure optimal situational awareness, network connectivity, and communication within the ABCT. The advanced features of the Bradley A4 significantly enhance Soldier safety and increase the ability to effectively counter adversaries, regardless of terrain, temperature, or threat level.

Dan Furber, director of ground vehicle production for BAE Systems’ Combat Mission Systems business, highlighted the importance of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, stating, “The Bradley Fighting Vehicle brings game-changing capabilities to the Army and our allied nations. Because of the support for additional production of the modern Bradley A4 variant, this enduring capability continues to make a difference for troops all over the world, ensuring they have the firepower, mobility and survivability they need to achieve their missions.”

Production and support efforts for the Bradley A4 are spread across BAE Systems’ extensive industrial network, encompassing Aiken, South Carolina; Anniston, Alabama; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Jose, California; Sterling Heights, Michigan; and York, Pennsylvania. This collaborative effort signifies the commitment to providing the U.S. Army with the most advanced and reliable fighting vehicles.

The Bradley A4’s impact extends beyond the battlefield. Its advanced capabilities and resilience contribute to the safety and effectiveness of American troops, making it a crucial asset in today’s dynamic security landscape. As the U.S. Army continues to modernize its capabilities, the Bradley Fighting Vehicle remains a cornerstone of its armored forces, ensuring a strategic advantage in future conflicts.
