Get ready for a culinary adventure at sea! Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux is returning to Norway in 2025 for a series of exclusive Le Gavroche at Sea residencies, bringing his legendary culinary expertise to Cunard’s luxurious cruises.
Across four scenic Fjord voyages, Roux will oversee four Le Gavroche residencies, with two taking place aboard the brand-new Queen Anne and two aboard the flagship Queen Mary 2, between April and August.
The first of these special residencies will occur on Queen Mary 2 during a five-night Le Gavroche takeover at The Verandah, coinciding with her seven-night Fjords roundtrip, setting sail on April 6. Guests will be treated to a five-course tasting menu that masterfully blends the best of the sea’s flavors, featuring top-tier ingredients and crafted by one of the most celebrated chefs in the world.
On May 11, Roux will bring his expertise to Queen Anne, hosting Le Gavroche at Sir Samuels for a Fjords voyage, where guests can look forward to a stunning selection of his signature seafood dishes and gourmet classics. The culinary journey continues with another intimate residency on August 15 aboard Queen Mary 2 at The Verandah, and Roux will round off his quartet of Le Gavroche residencies aboard Queen Anne from August 31.
Le Gavroche at Sea will offer an exclusive dining experience with limited seating—accommodating up to 60 guests at The Verandah and 50 at Sir Samuels each evening. Reservations will be required and come at an additional charge.
Elevated Culinary Experiences
In addition to these special residencies, Roux will debut a new elevated seafood concept. Guests on Queen Mary 2 can enjoy Oysters at The Champagne Bar, while Queen Anne will feature Oysters at Carinthia Lounge, serving up Norwegian seafood delicacies on a walk-in basis each night of their voyages. Roux will also host live cooking demonstrations in the Royal Court Theatre and appear as an Insight Speaker during each voyage, sharing stories from his illustrious 40-year career in the culinary world, with book signing opportunities available as well.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, expressed the company’s excitement, stating: “We’re thrilled to continue our successful Le Gavroche at Sea residencies. Our guests expect exceptional experiences, and having one of the world’s most celebrated chefs on board to create special menus and host exclusive events is truly special.”
Michel Roux echoed this sentiment, adding: “It is always a privilege to revive the essence of Le Gavroche and I am thrilled to be collaborating with Cunard for a second series of takeovers next year. This project is incredibly rewarding and allows me to craft signature menus that capture the spirit of adventure as well as the art of accessible fine dining. I am hugely excited to get back on board and showcase the beauty of Norwegian seafood to Cunard guests.”
These Le Gavroche at Sea residencies promise an unforgettable culinary experience, offering guests a unique opportunity to savor the artistry of a true culinary legend while cruising through the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords.
