A chilling video has emerged online, providing a glimpse into the ongoing battle against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The footage, captured by a drone, shows a terrorist attempting to flee security forces during an encounter in the Baramulla district.
The video reveals the terrorist running towards a cluster of trees near a house. He stumbles and falls to the ground, crawling a few meters before coming to a halt. The scene offers a stark reminder of the dangers faced by security forces in the region.
The incident occurred on September 14th, following an overnight gunbattle between security forces and three terrorists in Chak Tapper Kreeri, Pattan area of Baramulla. The operation, which resulted in the death of all three terrorists, was initiated based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of unidentified terrorists in the region.
Brig. Sanjay Kannoth, Commander of the Army’s 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, explained that security forces had received specific intelligence about the terrorist presence. “We received specific intelligence from intelligence agencies about the presence of some unidentified terrorists in Chak Tapar/Watargam,” he stated. A cordon was established at the suspected location, and when security forces approached the building, they were met with heavy fire from the terrorists.
The encounter lasted throughout the night, with intense gunfire exchanged between the terrorists and security forces. A significant amount of war-like stores was recovered after the operation, but the identities of the terrorists remain unknown.
This incident highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Just days earlier, two army soldiers were killed in a gunbattle with terrorists in Kishtwar district. Additionally, another encounter took place in the Kathua district following a search operation initiated by police and security forces. A separate encounter also occurred in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district.
