Ethiopian Airlines Expands West African Network with New Routes to Guinea and Liberia

Ethiopian Airlines is set to make a significant stride in its West African network with the introduction of non-stop flights between Addis Ababa and Conakry, the capital of Guinea. This expansion marks a strategic move for the airline, further solidifying its presence in the region.

Beginning on November 30th, the airline will operate a minimum of three weekly flights to Conakry, utilizing the modern and fuel-efficient 787-8 Dreamliner. The flight duration is estimated to be around 9 hours and 5 minutes, with arrivals in Conakry in the afternoon and departures the following morning.

The launch of this new route coincides with the ongoing rehabilitation of regional airports in Guinea, signaling a potential upswing in air traffic within the region. The improved infrastructure and increased connectivity are likely to benefit both business and leisure travelers, promoting economic growth and tourism.

Furthermore, Ethiopian Airlines will resume flights to Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, after a decade-long hiatus since 2010. This resumption of service signifies a strategic shift in the airline’s West African operations, with Monrovia replacing Ouagadougou as a stop on its routes.

As a member of the Star Alliance, Ethiopian Airlines already serves over 50 African cities, establishing itself as one of the most extensive and dependable carriers on the continent. This latest expansion reinforces the airline’s commitment to connecting Africa and promoting regional integration through seamless air travel.
