Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision with Wrong-Way Driver in Gurugram

A tragic incident occurred on the early morning of Sunday in Gurugram, claiming the life of a 23-year-old motorcyclist. Akshat Garg, a resident of Dwarka, Delhi, was riding his motorcycle with a friend, Pradyuman Kumar, when a speeding Mahindra XUV 300 car, driven in the wrong direction, collided head-on with his bike. The accident took place on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park, DLF Phase II.

Both Akshat and Pradyuman were equipped with safety gear, including helmets and gloves. They had started their journey from separate locations and were planning to meet a group of bikers at Ambience Mall after leaving DLF Downtown. While crossing the Sikanderpur-Cyberhub flyover, they approached a turn where the car suddenly appeared, driving against the flow of traffic in the lane meant for fast-moving vehicles.

The impact of the collision was severe, flinging Akshat above the car and mangling his motorcycle beyond recognition. Despite the quick arrival of an ambulance, which transported Akshat to a nearby hospital in DLF Phase-II, doctors pronounced him dead.

The car occupants, two men in their mid-20s and a dog, were apprehended by commuters and handed over to the police. Pradyuman, deeply shaken by the incident, stated that Akshat became unresponsive within seconds after he tried to remove his helmet.

Pradyuman also mentioned that his GoPro camera, mounted on his helmet, captured the entire accident. However, the police did not take a copy of the footage despite seeing it. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and underscores the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.
