Harry Lambert’s Cutie Circus: A Nostalgic Trip Through Fashion

Harry Lambert, the stylist known for his work with Emma Corrin and Harry Styles, has launched his second collaboration with Zara, aptly titled Cutie Circus. Drawing inspiration from his own childhood experiences and his love for vintage finds, Lambert has crafted a collection that is both playful and timeless.

“Very selfishly, I was like, this is my opportunity to design for myself 15 years ago,” Lambert previously told British Vogue about his first Zara collaboration, Cutie Chaos. “The high street was really important to me for discovering my own style.”

This time around, Lambert’s inspiration stems from his fondness for amusement parks and seaside memories. “Whenever I’m away for work, I always try and slip a visit in!” he says of his love for theme parks. Cutie Circus reflects his childhood, particularly his time spent by the seaside and visiting arcades. “I find these spaces that are created for joy and for fun such fascinating places,” he explains. “I think fashion brings me so much joy as well, so these two worlds coming together felt appropriate.”

Much like the avant-garde looks he creates for his clients – Corrin’s dazzling JW Anderson goldfish dress and Styles’s captivating on-stage ensembles – Cutie Circus embraces bold colors, vibrant patterns, and playful prints in a carefully curated way. “It was clear people were really inspired by the graphics and the sense of nostalgia,” Lambert observes, building upon the narrative he established with his previous collection.

Vintage is at the core of Lambert’s personal style. He fondly reminisces about a suede Prada coat he found in a thrift store in LA. “There was a little bit of white paint on the sleeve so I got them to take another 20 per cent off, and I just picked it off in the car park after I got it!” He explains. This vintage aesthetic is reflected in the collection, particularly in the outerwear, inspired by women’s Peter Pan collared jackets.

“I’ve always thought about making things I would love to stumble across,” Lambert asserts. “I love timelessness and the feeling of nostalgia in clothes, and I think if you have that nostalgia it feels like it’s eternal and can be worn forever, because it’s not so trend-focused.”

The collection features an array of playful pieces like rainbow block-knits, candy-hued striped tees, slogan hoodies – “I’ve really got into hunting for vintage T-shirts that have these funny sayings on, I thought about what I’d want to wear to put a smile on my face” – and polka-dot shirting. These vibrant pieces are paired with enduring staples like barrel-leg trousers, jeans, and tailoring. The pinstriped suit, a favorite among his inner circle, was a popular pre-order item.

“My number-one-piece is a baby-blue shirt with embroidered graphic on it based on an illustration is done by my nephew, Adam,” Lambert reveals. “There are so many pieces in here I’m really excited to wear.” With its vibrant colors, playful prints, and nostalgic feel, Cutie Circus promises to bring a dose of joy and fun to any wardrobe.
