TravelingWiki Foundation Launches Free Travel Hotline for Special Needs Community

The TravelingWiki Foundation, a leading non-profit dedicated to supporting the non-visible disability community, has launched a new travel advice hotline. This free service, available in English and Spanish, is specifically designed to assist travelers with special needs. Based in Boston, the hotline can be reached at 781-2-TRAVEL.

This initiative builds upon the foundation’s existing resources, now available in 11 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Hebrew, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi. The TravelingWiki Foundation plays a vital role in bridging the gap for travelers with specific needs, particularly within the U.S. airport system.

In addition to its travel services, the TravelingWiki Foundation excels in job placement assistance, especially for individuals on the Autism spectrum. Recently, the foundation highlighted its work in Iowa through a feature interview broadcast statewide on the local ABC affiliate.

Ahead of the upcoming NeurIPS Neurodiversity Affinity Workshop, the TravelingWiki Foundation is participating in a series of tech-focused events in the Bay Area. These events focus on AI and broader technology applications, where the foundation has announced the expansion of three audio communication lines: (1) 641-7-AUTISM, (2) 224-NO-BULLY, and (3) 781-2-TRAVEL, designed to support diverse needs. The foundation’s services are also accessible through YouTube at @TravelingWiki.

Feedback from key stakeholders has emphasized the importance of increasing access to travel resources and acknowledging the unique challenges faced by the communities the foundation serves. The TravelingWiki Foundation is committed to offering free services to individuals with special needs. Its new phone lines demonstrate the foundation’s rapid growth and global reach. Now available in 11 languages, these services reflect the foundation’s unwavering dedication to providing valuable support worldwide.

Jonathan Sutter, CEO of TravelingWiki Foundation, stated, “The new Special Needs Travel Hotline will provide free services to Spanish and English speakers in the Special Needs Community, which TravelingWiki Foundation feels is critical to expand access to travel. More broadly, we stand ready to assist in both travel and employment with free resources in 11 languages.”
