The Rajasthan Royals have made a significant move to bolster their coaching staff ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 season, appointing former India opener Vikram Rathour as the team’s batting coach. Rathour, who brings a wealth of experience to the role, most recently served as India’s batting coach. His appointment marks a reunion with Rahul Dravid, the newly appointed head coach of the Royals, who also guided India to victory in the recent T20 World Cup.

Rathour’s impressive resume includes a stint as a national selector in 2012 and playing six Test matches for India. His contract as India’s batting coach concluded after India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup in June.
The Royals, who suffered a disappointing loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2, are clearly determined to make a strong comeback next season.
