Samsung Galaxy S25 Charging Speeds Remain Stagnant: A Disappointing Leak

The latest leak regarding the Samsung Galaxy S25 isn’t exactly cause for celebration. According to certified specifications obtained in China, the standard Galaxy S25 will only support 25W charging, while the S25 Plus will offer 45W. While this might sound familiar, it’s because these specs are identical to the previous generation, the S24 and S24 Plus.

While the difference between 25W and 45W charging might not seem significant when charging from empty to full, it’s in those critical moments when you need a quick top-up that the disparity becomes noticeable. Imagine leaving the house in 15 minutes with a low battery; you’d want to maximize your charge within that short timeframe. With a 45W charger, you can achieve significantly greater battery power compared to 25W in the same timeframe, potentially reaching up to 70% to 80% capacity.

This stagnant charging technology is disheartening, particularly since Samsung has maintained a 25W charging speed for the base model for six years now. It’s even more frustrating when compared to rival Android devices. The OnePlus 12 boasts 80W or 100W charging (depending on region), while the Motorola Edge 2024 supports a rapid 68W charging speed. Even Samsung’s ‘fast’ charging pales in comparison to the charging capabilities offered by other manufacturers.

Despite this news, it’s crucial to remember that the Galaxy S25 still holds immense potential. This leak might be a bummer, but it shouldn’t deter anyone from anticipating the phone’s release. The Galaxy S25 promises a plethora of exciting features, and we’re still eager to see what it brings to the table when it finally launches.
