Spice Island Beach Resort, the only locally owned luxury all-inclusive resort in Grenada, recently strengthened its commitment to community engagement by supporting the Christian Cultural Center’s (CCC) 17th Annual Golf Classic in New York. This prestigious event, held at the Pine Hollow Country Club on August 26th, successfully raised funds for Common Grace, a charitable organization dedicated to social betterment and fostering unity among people.
The golf tournament provided participants with a chance to enjoy friendly competition while engaging in raffles and vying for prizes such as an electric golf cart and a vacation at the opulent Spice Island Beach Resort.
Janelle Hopkin, President and Managing Director of Spice Island Beach Resort, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are keenly aware of the deep bonds between our Grenadian and West Indian communities at home, and the Caribbean and African American diaspora abroad.” She highlighted the significant economic and social contributions of the diaspora that enrich the collective experience of the islands.
“Christian Cultural Center is a vibrant institution with a rich history of serving our nationals in New York, and we are honored to support its mission and contribute to such important work,” Hopkin added. She also congratulated Ashley Croker, whom her team eagerly anticipates welcoming to the award-winning resort.
Established in 1978, the CCC has become a vital organization within New York, serving as a beacon for the spiritual, cultural, and intellectual pursuits of its thriving faith-based community. Led by Senior Pastor Rev. A. R. Bernard, the center boasts a membership exceeding 40,000 individuals and exerts considerable influence both locally and internationally.
The funds raised during the event will support Common Grace’s initiatives in addressing poverty, promoting religious tolerance, and advancing education, mentorship, and leadership programs. This collaboration showcases the powerful impact of community partnerships and the shared commitment to building a better future for all.
