Enhanced Security for Prime Minister Modi During US Trip Following Trump Attacks

Following recent attacks on former US President Donald Trump, security measures have been significantly enhanced for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming three-day trip to the United States. According to reports, the US Secret Service has implemented heightened security protocols at venues Modi will be visiting, including the Quad summit in Delaware Wilmington, which will also see the participation of US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

The US Secret Service is ensuring the safety of the prime minister by securing the areas around these venues against potential intruders or objects that could pose a risk. This heightened security comes after extensive discussions between Indian and American security officials over the past two weeks.

In addition to the Quad summit, Modi will travel to New York, where the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the US Secret Service are coordinating proximate security measures for his visit. This collaboration is essential for protecting the prime minister throughout his stay in New York, where he will attend an Indian community event in Long Island, address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly, and participate in a roundtable with CEOs of American firms working in areas of AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors.

The Quad summit is expected to focus on expanding cooperation among member nations to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The leaders will also discuss ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi will hold separate bilateral talks with each of the three Quad leaders during his visit.

“My meeting with President Biden will allow us to review and identify new pathways to further deepen India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good. I am eagerly looking forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important American business leaders, who are the key stakeholders and provide vibrancy to the unique partnership between the largest and the oldest democracies of the world,” Prime Minister Modi stated in his departure statement.
