India has etched its name in chess history by becoming the latest nation to claim victory at the Chess Olympiad. The 45th edition of the prestigious tournament, held in Hungary from September 10th to 23rd, witnessed India’s remarkable dominance in both the open and women’s sections.
In the open section, India showcased its prowess by winning an impressive 10 out of 11 ties, losing only a single individual game. This dominant performance secured them the coveted gold medal, leaving the competition in awe. The United States secured second place, while the defending champion, Uzbekistan, claimed third place.
