Vogue Philippines Celebrates Filipino Fashion on Global Stage with ‘Vogue Threads’

Vogue Philippines is taking Filipino fashion to the world stage in celebration of its second anniversary. The magazine is hosting an exclusive event titled “Vogue Threads” at the prestigious Palais Galliera in Paris. This 19th-century Beaux-Arts museum, originally commissioned by the Duchess of Galliera, boasts a rich history of showcasing art and culture.

On September 25th, the Palais Galliera will become a canvas for Filipino creativity as Vogue Threads brings together local and international guests to celebrate Filipino craftsmanship. The evening will feature a dinner and exhibit showcasing the work of 36 Filipino designers.

Each designer was tasked with creating pieces that embody the essence of the Philippine archipelago, highlighting the nation’s rich history of craft and artistry. These designs will be presented through maquettes, miniature scale models used as patterns before executing a full-scale design, offering a unique glimpse into the creative process.

“We begin another conversation with Vogue Threads,” says Bea Valdes, Vogue Philippines’ editor-in-chief. “One that showcases the work of our designers—who exemplify the ideals of our craft, our community, our culture. Through their work, they connect the past with the future, tailoring to technology and the Philippines to the world.”

The creative direction of “A representation of the Philippine Archipelago; celebration of craft and form” will guide the exhibition, featuring the works of designers like Prince Padilla, Joey Samson, Dennis Lustico, Jojie Lloren, Jerome Lorico, Rhett Eala, Ivarluski Aseron, Hannah Adrias, Milka Quin, Ino Caluza of Viktor, Gabbie Sarenas, and many others.
