The Odisha government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged torture of an army officer and the sexual assault of his fiancée at a police station in Bhubaneswar. The incident, which occurred on September 15, has sparked widespread outrage and criticism.

In response to the allegations, the Odisha government has suspended five police officers from the Bharatpur police station where the alleged incident occurred. The government has also requested the Orissa High Court to oversee the ongoing probe by the Crime Branch of the Odisha Police, ensuring an independent and thorough investigation.
The incident reportedly began when the army officer and his fiancée approached the Bharatpur police station to file a complaint about a road rage incident. The couple alleges they were assaulted at the station.
