SAS and Delta Expand Travel Options with New Codeshare Agreement

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Delta Air Lines have joined forces to enhance travel experiences between Scandinavia, North America, and Europe. This new codeshare agreement, taking effect on September 25, 2024, follows SAS’s recent integration into the SkyTeam alliance on September 1st. The partnership promises seamless connectivity, expanded destinations, and exciting benefits for frequent flyers.

The codeshare agreement opens doors to new travel possibilities, connecting key destinations like New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles in North America with Scandinavian hubs. It also extends travel options within Europe, offering connections to France and Italy. Passengers of both airlines will reap the rewards of this collaboration, enjoying codeshare services and earning and redeeming SkyMiles or SAS EuroBonus points across both carriers.

SAS travelers will gain access to over 150 North American destinations through Delta’s key hubs in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle. On the other hand, Delta passengers flying from North America will have access to more than 50 destinations across Northern Europe, thanks to SAS’s hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Delta through this new codeshare agreement, enhancing travel options between Scandinavia and North America,” said Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer from SAS. “With our new direct route from Copenhagen to Seattle, we’re strengthening connections to the Pacific Northwest, offering more travel options for our passengers. As a proud new member of SkyTeam Alliance, this collaboration offers great opportunities to provide seamless connectivity and benefits across our global network. We are excited about the possibilities and committed to delivering an elevated travel experience for our customers.”

“As part of Delta’s mission to connect people around the world, our new partnership with SAS will strengthen our presence in Northern Europe by offering customers improved access to destinations throughout Scandinavia and a better overall flying experience,” added Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s Senior Vice President Alliances.

This strategic partnership between SAS and Delta is set to redefine the travel landscape for passengers seeking smooth and rewarding journeys between Scandinavia, North America, and Europe.
