Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to Feature All-Female Officiating Panel

In a groundbreaking move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will feature an all-female panel of match officials. The tournament, set to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the hosting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), will showcase the talents of 13 women officials.

These officials include a total of 10 umpires and 3 match referees, all selected for their expertise and experience in the sport. Among them, Claire Polosak stands out as a seasoned veteran, having officiated in four previous Women’s T20 World Cup tournaments.

Adding to the wealth of experience on the panel are Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams, both making their fourth appearance at the event. They hold the prestigious distinction of having officiated the final of the previous edition, a thrilling match between Australia and South Africa. Another familiar face returning for her fourth tournament is Sue Redfern, who served as the TV umpire for the previous final.

The tournament will also see a new face, Sarah Dambanevana from Zimbabwe, making her Women’s T20 World Cup debut as an umpire. This diverse and experienced panel of women officials is sure to contribute to a memorable and impactful Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
