This rigorous standard builds upon the existing USDA National Organic Program, prioritizing critical social and environmental aspects through three core pillars: Soil Health & Land Management, Animal Welfare, and Farmer & Worker Fairness.
The ROC Standard champions innovative practices that contribute to soil carbon sequestration, mitigating climate change while ensuring the well-being of livestock and fostering economic stability and fairness throughout the farming community.
Nature’s Path’s commitment to regenerative organic practices extends beyond their own products. In collaboration with other brands and the Canadian Organic Growers (COG), they established the Regenerative Organic Oats Program, a pioneering initiative providing financial assistance and technical support to organic oat growers in Canada. This program, now in its third year, has empowered 24 farmers to manage approximately 10,000 acres of oat land, utilizing regenerative organic practices across the grain-growing prairies.
The program is also actively researching the impact of these farming practices on soil quality, a crucial aspect of the land’s ability to sequester carbon and withstand the effects of climate change. The oats used in Nature’s Path ROC Flavored Oatmeal are sourced from a farm enrolled in this program.
