Global communications firm FINN Partners has been tapped to lead the worldwide communications effort for the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) exciting new initiative, ‘Together in Travel.’ This partnership will see FINN spearheading content creation, public relations, SEO, and digital advertising to support the launch of this innovative community platform. The platform, set to be unveiled at the WTTC Global Summit in Perth this October, will be a game-changer for the travel and tourism industry.
The WTTC, a leading global organization, advocates for the growth of the travel and tourism sector. They work closely with governments, industries, and communities to highlight the economic significance of travel and tourism while promoting sustainable and inclusive practices. The ‘Together in Travel’ initiative takes this a step further by focusing on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), who represent a significant 80% of the global travel community.
This community platform will provide SMEs with the essential tools and content needed to accelerate their business growth. It will also ensure their voices are heard on a global stage, giving them a platform to share their experiences and contribute to industry discussions. The platform will offer free access with paid membership options to be rolled out in the future, facilitating meaningful connections, offering valuable insights, and providing tailored learning programs designed to help SMEs thrive.
FINN Partners will execute a comprehensive communications strategy utilizing their expertise in purpose, social impact, and global travel. The goal is to establish the ‘Together in Travel’ community as the go-to network for SMEs in both emerging and developed markets. They aim to support businesses at every stage of development, from startups to mature companies.
Julia Simpson, President & CEO of WTTC, expressed her enthusiasm: “SMEs are the backbone of the global tourism industry, and their role in driving innovation and growth is undeniable. Through our partnership with FINN Partners, we aim to amplify the voices of SMEs and provide them with the support and visibility they need to succeed.”
Matthew Upchurch, Vice Chair of Membership at WTTC and Chairman & CEO of Virtuoso, also shared his excitement: “The ‘Together in Travel’ initiative elevates our role as the voice for the private sector. I’m excited to witness the mutual value this community will bring to its members.”
Leading the project for FINN Partners is Debbie Flynn, Managing Partner and Global Travel Practice Leader. She stated, “We’re thrilled to be working alongside WTTC to lead the campaign that will empower SMEs and ensure sustainable growth and partnerships in the travel sector.”
The initiative will be spearheaded by a team of 10 professionals across multiple regions, including India, APAC, Europe, and the United States. This collaborative effort aims to create a truly global platform that will empower SMEs and contribute to the sustainable growth of the travel and tourism sector worldwide.
