Microsoft has announced the launch of its full Cipher Series of transparent Xbox Wireless Controllers, following the successful release of the Sky Cipher special edition. This new series offers a wider range of customization and performance options for gamers of all levels.
The Cipher Series features six distinct color variations for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2: Ghost Cipher (white), Velocity Cipher (Xbox green), Astral Cipher (purple), Surf Cipher (blue), Candy Cipher (pink), and Pulse Cipher (red). This allows you to personalize your controller with your preferred aesthetic. You can even further customize your controller through the Design Lab, mixing and matching D-pad, button, joystick, and trigger colors to create a truly unique design.
The Elite Series 2 controllers, known for their advanced features and customizability, are available in the Cipher Series for $150. Keep in mind that add-ons like paddles and other accessories can increase the overall price. For those seeking an edge in competitive gaming, Xbox is also offering two chromatic D-pad and paddles in the series: Energy Chroma (blue) and Sunset Chroma (yellow). These accessories provide more granular control, which can be beneficial for online competitive games and shooters.
If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, the Ghost Cipher version of the regular Xbox controller offers a transparent design reminiscent of the Sky Cipher, featuring white casing and copper-colored triggers and D-pad. Unlike the other Cipher series controllers available only through the Design Lab, this special edition wireless controller can be purchased directly for $70. The Cipher Series builds upon the success of the Sky Cipher special edition, which featured a dark-blue gradient and a transparent shell extending across the front.
